Now that our beautiful Colorado fall is approaching, it's time to look forward to another year of AAUW. We have an exciting year of programs planned by our program committee, and our interest groups are gearing up for action. Our annual fundraiser for the Educational Foundation will be a holiday brunch followed by a fashion show, and the Legal Advocacy Fund will, of course, be supported by our annual geranium sale in May.
Our Fall Leadership Conference will be in Breckenridge on Sept. 16th and 17th this year. This is a great opportunity for any member to become more acquainted with the workings of the State AAUW and to become more familiar with the issues that concern us as educated women. Any member may register.
Referenda C & D, on the ballot on November 1, is an important part of our public policy this fall. Our speaker at the membership tea on Sept. 18th will be Representative Alice Madden, who will speak on the effects of TABOR and Referenda C & D.
There also have been some changes in National AAUW membership rules that you will be interested in knowing.
We are planning Expanding Your Horizons in 2006. EYH is our conference/workshop for middle school girls planning careers in science, math and technology. It is a successful but very time-consuming and labor intensive undertaking each year. Please consider helping to make it a success again by volunteering for help. We need all the assistance we can get!
Once more, welcome to AAUW Boulder Branch. We will be delighted to see you all at the fall Membership Tea on Sept. 18th from 3-5. Please bring a friend, sign up for interest groups, and enjoy the speaker and the friendship of fellow members.
We welcome visitors and encourage you to contact those listed on our Web site.
